01 — Safety Features
Structural Design & Safety Features (4-Column Architecture)
Absolute Platen Parallelism: The four-pillar precision-ground column architecture ensures the top ram moves with zero lateral play. This maintains strict alignment between the punches and the die cavity, preventing powder leakage and ensuring uniform density across the lead block.
Sealed & Contained Environment: Due to the toxic nature of lead dust, these presses are frequently integrated with enclosed or sealed feeding hoppers, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) ports, and dust collection interfaces to protect operators and maintain environmental safety standards.
02 — Technical Specifications
Key Technical Specifications

Guide Structure | 4 Hard-Chromed, Precision-Ground Steel Pillars with heavy-duty bushings |
Die & Punch Assembly | Hardened alloy tool steel or specialized wear-resistant inserts designed to handle dense, soft-metal powders |
Hydraulic Drive | Variable displacement piston pumps or servo-hydraulic systems with smooth proportional pressure control |
Control Unit | PLC system with HMI touchscreen interface for programming fill depth, pressing tonnage, dwell time, and automated extraction |
03 — Operational Workflow
Operational Workflow
- Enclosed Volumetric Feeding: A sealed, automated feed shoe slides precisely over the die cavity to deposit a measured volume of loose lead powder, minimizing airborne dust.
- Multi-Stage Compression:
- Fast Approach: The top ram lowers quickly to the material surface.
- High-Pressure Compaction: The system applies controlled tonnage. Because lead is soft and highly malleable, precise pressure prevents over-compression distortion or internal shearing.
- Dwell Phase: Peak pressure is held briefly to stabilize the crystalline structure and ensure uniform particle bonding throughout the block.
- Controlled Decompression & Ejection: Hydraulic pressure is smoothly released to prevent surface cracking from elastic springback. A bottom ejection cylinder then cleanly pushes the solid lead block out of the die cavity for downstream processing.
