500T Celsian Powder Block Press 1
Celsian Powder Block: Hydraulic Press Machine

500T Four Column Hydraulic Press for Celsian Powder Block

A Celsian Powder Block Compression 4-Column Hydraulic Press Machine is a specialized industrial compaction system engineered to compress fine celsian powder (barium feldspar, BaAl2Si2O8) into dense, uniform solid blocks, ceramic preforms, or refractory blanks.

These machines are utilized in advanced technical ceramics, high-temperature refractory manufacturing, and electronic substrate production, where loose barium aluminosilicate mineral powders must be consolidated to minimize airborne dusting, reduce storage volume, and optimize handling or sintering processes.

01 — Engineering Considerations

Structural Design & Engineering Considerations (4-Column Architecture)

High-Precision Guidance & Parallelism: Barium feldspar and ceramic mineral powders require strict control over compaction uniformity to prevent structural weak points or density gradients. The four-pillar precision-ground column architecture ensures absolute platen parallelism and eliminates lateral play, preventing uneven wall pressures and ensuring consistent block density.

Rigid Load Distribution: Compacting fine mineral powders into high-strength blocks requires continuous high tonnage. The 4-column frame withstands heavy cyclic loads without structural flexing, maintaining exact micro-tolerances between the punches and the die cavity over long operational lifespans.

Abrasion Resistance & Tooling: Because silicate and feldspar powders can be abrasive during high-pressure compaction, press tooling, die walls, and punches are engineered with hardened alloy tool steels or specialized wear-resistant carbide inserts to prevent rapid tooling degradation and material contamination.

03 — Operational Workflow

Operational Workflow

  1. Enclosed Volumetric Feeding: An automated, sealed feed shoe slides precisely over the die cavity to deposit a measured volume of loose celsian powder, minimizing airborne dust and ensuring uniform fill density.
  2. Multi-Stage Compression:
    1. Fast Approach: The top ram lowers quickly to the material surface.
    2. High-Pressure Compaction: The system applies controlled tonnage. A multi-action or dual-punch configuration ensures even particle interlocking and density distribution throughout the depth of the block.
  3. Dwell Phase: Peak pressure is held for a set duration to allow trapped air to evacuate and the mineral particles to firmly settle, minimizing internal stress or cracking.
  4. Controlled Decompression & Ejection: Hydraulic pressure is gradually bled off to prevent surface cracking from elastic springback. A bottom ejection cylinder then cleanly pushes the solid celsian block out of the die cavity for downstream sintering, curing, or packaging.
